Junlin LI (李俊霖)

I work in human cognition modeling and affective dialogue systems. I have been conducting computational modeling and NLG studies on empathetic conversation and eye-movement. For example, I use LLMs to generate human-like empathy and reading behavior.

Before my PolyU days, I was major in Arabic and Middle East Studies. Our teacher said that "The time devoted to studying Arabic every day should not be less than 14 hours". So I have a wish, that Chinese students one day can achieve good proficiency of Arabic with only 14 minutes' learning everyday. I believe LLM has this potential.

I like the last character of my name, namely 霖. Visually, it is composed of rain (雨) and forest (林). But, semantically, it does not denote a rain-forest. It means a long and endless rain (something like 雨雨雨雨雨雨).
